Peace

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid.

I love this scripture. So often, I'm afraid and worried about everything. I worry about school, work, my weight, my future and about our family. Especially about our family. I worry that I will fail in a big way when I have a family. Sometimes I am so caught up in negativity of fear that I can't even imagine what it feels like to be at peace with some of the things in my life and with some of the the things that I am. It feels like so long since I have truly had peace and contentment in my heart.
This scripture is so wonderful. I know the Savior loves me. I know he is strong and that he will protect me. He calms raging storms and brings people back from the dead. He can help me with my problems, too. And they aren't small to him either. He knows exactly how I feel, and like he says, he doesn't give the world's kind of peace. It's completely different. Reading this scripture is like him giving me a big hug. And letting me cry on his shoulder.
It's nice to know that the Savior of the World is on my side.

Duet. 31:6

Hi Family- I just thought I'd add my scripture theme! I love this scripture:

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
--Duet. 31:6

I love this scripture because it gives me courage because I know that Heavenly Father is always there. Just like in the scripture in Romans. I especially love the last part-'he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.' I know He's there. Even in the moments when we think He's not!!!

Romans 8:28, 31-39

28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose
31What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32He the spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
34Who is he that comdemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, not things present, nor things to come,
39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Hi family! I thought that I would start with one of my favorite scriptures from Romans about Christ's love for us and how nothing on this earth can take it away. He will always be there for us and will always love us, no matter what. I have certain parts of it that are my favorite, but I want to hear your comments about it first. Shout out to Barbie-you are my hero for starting this. I hope everyone participates. I love you all! -Cil
