Romans 8:28, 31-39

28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose
31What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32He the spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
34Who is he that comdemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, not things present, nor things to come,
39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Hi family! I thought that I would start with one of my favorite scriptures from Romans about Christ's love for us and how nothing on this earth can take it away. He will always be there for us and will always love us, no matter what. I have certain parts of it that are my favorite, but I want to hear your comments about it first. Shout out to Barbie-you are my hero for starting this. I hope everyone participates. I love you all! -Cil

Great choice! I love how here Paul takes the time to say specifically some of the things that cannot separate us from Christ's love. I love this passage but 38 and 39 are by far my favorites for this reason!! --Cath

I was thinking about this scripture today and about how powerful and amazing Christ's love is for each and every one of us. NOTHING can separate us from his love. It made me think of Harry Potter. How his mother's love for his was in his very skin, in every fiber of his being. She died to save him, just like out Savior died to save our souls and bring us home to our Heavenly Father to live in peace and joy forever. That love is in our skin and in our bones and every fiber of our being. My institute teacher told us today that we are the luckiest people in the world. No matter what trials we face, no matter what happens to us in our lives, we are truly blessed to have the fullness of the restored gospel in our lives and to know of that amazing love that our Savior has for us. We can never say that we are poor or unlucky or that life is bad. We have so much. And on top of that, we have eachother.

That is a great scripture! I really like how it talks about how no power in the world or anywhere else (hell, for example) can separate us from our Heavenly Father. He's going to win, and he has the power to keep us safe from harm and to guide us through our lives that are so full of confusion and negativity. Satan will try really hard to keep us from knowing how God loves us and from recognizing the Lord's tender mercies, but his efforts will all be in vain if we just say close to the gospel.

I really feel God's love for me when I read the scriptures, and I think the adversary knows. That's why it's so hard. A general authority (I don't remember who) said the adversary doesn't make good people unhappy and fall away by tempting them do a bunch of horrid things. He simply whispers in their ears to not read scriptures, to not pray. He takes advantage of our busy schedules and our sense of duty to make us neglect the best things and replace them with other activities.
